Lux School for Industrial Training Established
George A. Merrill is asked to found and administer the Lux School. Using the Lick School facilities, 120 girls entered the school's program for its first year. The curriculum was organized around five subjects: sewing and textiles, food, health, art, and retailing and merchandising.
